Financing Refugees for greater economic and social benefit to Australia

Harvard Club of Victoria members and their guests are invited to a special lunch presentation by Huy Truong on Thursday the 1st of March 2018.

Australia’s economic history has been indelibly linked with migrants who have built businesses, created jobs and become a positive force for the economic and social development of our country. A subset of these migrants have been refugees fleeing persecution from all corners of the world – Jews, Indochinese, Sudanese, Myanmar, Afghanistan and Syria. With safety and resettlement support, many refugees have been able to harness their determination and drive to rebuild their lives through the creation of businesses and jobs.

Huy Truong is the co-founder of Thrive Refugee Enterprise and will explain how Thrive is supporting refugees with financing and business mentoring to maximise their economic and social contribution to Australia.
