Dating The Rock Art of the Kimberley
Club members and guests assembled in November at the offices of Allens to meet to hear a presentation from the Kimberley Foundation of Australia on their major new project "Dating the Rock Art of the Kimberley". Cas Bennetto, CEO of KFA, gave an overview of the organisation's aims and activities and Professor Andy Gleadow of Melbourne University explained the project's purpose and methodology. By working towards conclusively dating the rock art KFA’s Rock Art Dating project has the potential to change the way the world understands the history of human migration and settlement in Australia. The project and further information on the rock art of the Kimberley was also discussed on Radio National's Saturday Extra program on the Saturday morning following the talk.
