Briefing Session for HCV Nonprofit Fellowships
Briefing Session for HCV Nonprofit Fellowships
To be held at Leadership Victoria on Monday, February 24 at 6pm
The Harvard Club of Victoria will be holding a briefing session at Leadership Victoria on Monday, February 24 at 6pm for 6:30 to 7:30pm to inform peak bodies and potential applicants of the Club's Nonprofit Fellowship program.
The HCV Nonprofit Fellowship program provides funding to up to 3 CEO's of non-profit organisations based in Victoria to attend the one week Harvard Business School program Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management ("SPNM") in Cambridge, Massachusetts in July. The A$12,000 award covers SPNM course fees (tuition and case materials, accommodation, and meals), as well as travel to and from Boston, including a side-trip to allow for visits to appropriate nonprofit organizations in North America.
The Fellowship award is now available to CEO's in service delivery organisations in the community service sector, with particular focus on the alcohol and drug services, disability, children youth and family services, family violence, housing and homelessness, mental health, refugee resettlement and youth affairs areas. These organisations must be based in Victoria, have DGR status and should have annual revenues over A$3 million. CEOs of industry associations (e.g. peak bodies), management support organisations, and consulting firms are not eligible.
The program has been running for 13 years and has previously been focused on the disability sector in Victoria; in that time we have sent 24 CEO's on the program. The feedback from the CEO's has been uniformly excellent and we are confident that the Fellowship provides an outstanding leadership development experience for nonprofit leaders. Our aim is to help them make an even bigger impact in the community service sector in future years.
The briefing session will present the aims and background of the program, along with the key selection criteria and details around the application and interview process. There will be 2 former Fellows who will relate their experience and a Q&A panel session. We do not intend running the briefing session each year so this will be the best opportunity to learn about the program. The application process will open on February 25 and run for around 1 month. Interviews will be held on May 3rd.
