HCV Lunch Series: Professor Robert Austin, Creativity in Management
As part of our lunch series, HCV would like to invite you and your guests to a light lunch and presentation on Creativity in Management on Monday the 19th October by Professor Robert D. Austin.
Robert D. Austin is Professor, Management of Creativity and Innovation, at Copenhagen Business School. Before moving to Copenhagen, he was a professor of Technology and Operations Management at the Harvard Business School for more than a decade. He has published in both academic and professional venues, such as Harvard Business Review, Information Systems Research, MIT Sloan Management Review, Organization Science, and the Wall Street Journal. He is the author of nine books, including The Soul of Design: Harnessing the Power of Plot to Create Extraordinary Products (Stanford University Press, 2012, coauthored with Lee Devin), Harder Than I Thought: Adventures of a 21st Century CEO (Harvard Business Review Press, 2012, coauthored with Richard L. Nolan and Shannon O’Donnell), and Artful Making: What Managers Need to Know About How Artists Work (Financial Times Prentice Hall, 2003, also with Devin).
Professor Austin will talk about results of a multi-year study that examines the principles, processes and practices that underlie successful innovation. The study, carried out over the course of a decade, draws on a number of specific cases of people or organizations involved in “making processes,” across a range of industries and contexts (from Science to Performing Arts).
So come along and enjoy a great lunch, brilliant conversation and affordable lunch, all within the CBD.
