HCV AGM AND ANNUAL DINNER

The Council of the Harvard Club of Victoria, is delighted to invite Harvard alumni and guests to the club's annual dinner in support of the Non-Profit Fellowship, immediately after the Annual General Meeting, on Thursday the 10th of October.

We are excited to announce that guests will enjoy a special presentation by Philip Lovejoy and Alice Hill. "Harvard, a global community: a conversation with Philip Lovejoy, Executive Director of the Harvard Alumni Association".

Philip and Alice will have a wide ranging conversation about the Harvard of today and the critical role that alumni play in the life of the university.

Philip Lovejoy has been working at Harvard University since 1998. Currently he is the Executive Director of the Harvard Alumni Association. Prior to being named the Executive Director, Philip served as Director, University-wide Alumni Affairs at the HAA and was responsible for all aspects of HAA programming which serve alumni across the university. Philip joined the HAA as Associate Director, Alumni Education in January 2004. Prior to that he was Director of External Affairs at the Harvard Museum of Natural History from 1998-2004 where his responsibilities included directing their travel program and all fundraising efforts for the institution.

Philip is currently serving on the Leadership Council of Boston Creates, on the Board of Directors of the Blue Hills Foundation, and is a member of the Harvard Travellers Club and the Society of the Cincinnati in the State of New Hampshire.

Alice Hill ’81, A.M. ’88, Ph.D. ’91, served as the HCV president from 2004 to 2008, is the immediate past chair of the HCV Non-Profit Fellowship Committee and has been a member of the HCV Council since 1997.  Alice joined the HAA’s board of directors as director for Australasia in 2008, and spent four years on the executive committee before becoming HAA president in July. This year, she will travel and work with alumni, including the 60,000 graduates who live and work internationally, as the first Australian, first Canadian, and first person from the Asia Pacific region to lead the HAA.

We will also hear from 2019 HCV Non-Profit Fellow Melodie Potts Rosevear, Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Teach for Australia. Melodie will share her experiences at Harvard Business School’s Strategic Perspective in Nonprofit Management course and how our club’s investment is making a difference to the Victorian Community sector.

The program will also include a fabulous auction and raffle with priceless items in support of the Non-Profit Fellowship.

Catch up with old friends and meet new members of the Harvard community at the Club’s biggest event of the year. It is a warm and welcoming event, with alumni attending from almost every school of the University.
