Canberra Networking Day and Executive Dinner

The Australia China Business Council has extended an invitation to Harvard alumni to attend its annual Canberra Networking Day (CND) and Executive Dinner in September.  CND is hosted every year with the support of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Chinese Embassy Canberra. It is the signature and premier annual event in the Australia-China bi-lateral business calendar.

This year’s theme, Engagement to Advantage: Building Australia’s China Capability, will focus on strengthening the practical capability, resilience, and confidence of Australian businesses operating in one of our most significant and complex economic relationships.

CND will open with the Executive Dinner in the Members Dining Rooms, Old Parliament House on Wednesday 9 September 2026 with drinks on arrival in Kings Hall from 6:00pm. The keynote will be provided by Jason Yat-sen Li, Member for Strathfield and Assistant Speaker. It will be MC’d by ABC Political Lead, and host of Insiders, David Speers.

CND Networking Day will be held in the Main Committee Room, Australian Parliament House on Thursday 10 September 2026 from 9:30am featuring Foreign Minister Penny Wong and Opposition Leader Angus Taylor. Tim Watts MP will speak on the renewed case for Asia capability and Christine Holgate AM on building a China strategy. The chairs of AustCham Hong Kong, Shanghai and Greater China will discuss what is happening on the ground right now.
